He later earned a law degree from the University of Virginia, practiced in Berryville, and was chosen to lead the department at Staunton, succeeding Thomas J. Michie Jr. Born in Martinsville, Wray stood as a key Legion worker and post commander at Lloyd Williams Post No. 41.
