Farm Labor office data show about five percent of 15 000 acres of canning tomatoes are being picked now. Weather and blight will cut handling by canneries to about six tons per acre, up to 68 tons less than last year. He recalls a near fatal landing on a small island where the ship was damaged but all escaped unharmed. Hayward Soldier Returns From 19 Months Overseas Duty
