Coroner's jury classifies three deaths as accidental
The coroner's jury ruled the deaths of William A. Jones Ronald Jamies and Jeanette Marie South and Henry M. Sorensen Jr accidental. Jones died from work injuries suffered August 12 at the Russell Road station crossing. The South children perished in an auto crash at the Russell Road and Southern Pacific crossing on August 21. Sorensen died August 26 at the B and Mai streets intersection while driving the ambulance to a crash scene. The jury urged installation of an electric wig wag at the station crossing.

Man fatally shot by own shotgun at rabbit club
John F. Kelly, 49, vice-president of the American Eleverntype Co. of San Francisco, was accidentally killed in San Jose when his shotgun exploded during a rabbit hunting incident at a ranch near Cupertino. He was beating a wounded jackrabbit with the stock when the barrel broke, wounding him in the abdomen. He died at the hospital shortly after.
