Three men suffered cuts and bruises in weekend automobile crashes in the Hayward area. Gustav Jergentz of Box 278 Route 4 Hayward endured severe head lacerations when his car veered on East Fourteenth Street between Hayward and San Leandro and struck a telephone pole, later treated at the county hospital. Elmer Norgren of 1036 Parder Street Berkeley and W T Sandusk of 2145 San Pablo Avenue Oakland were injured when their cars collided on the Niles highway. police attributed the crash to dirty radiator water slopping on a windshield.

Miss Mineie Opperman of Livermore won the queen title with 250 800 votes at the Federated Improvement Clubs ball in the Luther Burbank gym.
