Company F Begins New Training Year At Local Armory

Knife and Poker Fight Between Section Men
Two Western Pacific section men clashed at about five in the afternoon over a work dispute on the tracks. Francisco Alvarez, 24, was arrested by Chief Louis Silva after a knife was used, and Juan Gonsalvez, 31, suffered a severe knife wound and lip cut and was treated at General Hospital by Dr. I L Manson. Dutton & Company Expands Rabbit Fur Business in California
Dutton and Company opens on Oreana avenue near Ashland to market rabbit hides and to slaughter and refrigerate meat. A company spokesman claims last year they shipped at least 400000 hides to eastern markets and that 22000 hides have been sent east in the last five to three weeks, mainly to hatters. They also shipped 2000 fine pelts for high end furs and praise earthbay rabbit furs as superior to southern furs, predicting a strong rabbit industry in the region. The firm asserts it is here to stay and is optimistic about growth.

Atlantic Aces Rescued After Seaplane Fracture Search
Captain Frank T. Courtney and three companions aboard the seaplane Whale were rescued by the steamship Minneswaska after sending a distress call 720 miles north of the Azores. The crew, including E. Hickman Denied Rehearing in Parker Slaying
The California Supreme Court denied Hickman’s petition for rehearing in the Marian Parker murder case. Los Angeles Superior Court will receive notice by August 3 and Hickman is to be resentenced to die within 60 to 80 days. Attorneys warned they may appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court if denied.
