Doctor Joins Medical Reserve Corps From Pemiscot
Dr. J. W. Johnson left Pemiscot for Fort Riley Kansas after being called for duty and to report on the 16th. He passed the U S Officers Medical Reserve Corps exam with a high average and received a commission as First Lieutenant on March 24 1917. He may advance quickly and hopes to serve near home in Missouri, with Drs F A Mayes and L H Branner taking over his practice. Pemiscot residents contribute to the war effort as he joins the medical reserve to assist the draft army.
