Hayti Erects 128 Ft Flag for July Fourth
Hayti farmers and merchants raised a 128 foot flagstaff between St. Louis and Memphis, with Hayti Light Co. and Southwestern Telegraph Co. crews leading the effort. The staff was raised without charge, featuring a pyramid base engraved with Betsy Ross and Independence motifs. Donors and photos to follow next week.

Property holders within the triangle between two railroads face a 15 day deadline to lay sidewalks or the city will undertake the work. City arrangements rely on money from syndicates in St Louis and Chicago, with bond attorneys approving the plan.
