The first load of home grown watermelons arrived Monday morning amid dry weather. Despite a market already full of shipped melons, the local harvest was early for the season and of fair quality, finding ready sale.
Home Talent Play Friday Evening At Public School
A home talent play of unusual merit titled Mammy's Lil' Wild Rose will be staged Friday night at 8 o'clock in the public school auditorium. The cast is drawn from city talent with amateur stage experience. An admission of 20 and 35 cents will help defray expenses, promising rare entertainment.
