Drilling for Gas Near Harper Seeps On, resumes after halt
Drilling resumed last Thursday on the Reuben Tatsch ranch seven miles west of Harper in the Reservation community by Edmunds Drilling Company of Kerrville. A former Midland rotary rig had stopped earlier due to rock obstructions, with the new test well set about ten feet from the previous hole and a 900 foot casing to allow deeper drilling. Gypsum tests continue on the Hollan Walker ranch fifteen miles northwest of Harper to assess quantity and quality of deposits, with a large rig moving in for about a month of work.
