Gillespie completes bond drive stretch with last hour surge
Felix Stehling reports that Gillespie County surpassed its E quota in a final day rally for the bond drive. Precinct 12 led with strong sales after appeals from local volunteers, banks, and the Chamber of Commerce. A late check from Austin confirmed inclusion of large denomination bonds if a Monday remittance reached the Federal Reserve Bank.
