Veto showdown on United Nations peace bids underscored
The piece argues the United States must press a showdown against the Soviet veto in the Balkans to defend peace as nine of eleven Security Council members favored measures to curb aggression against Greece. It contends the UN is failing and calls for U.S. action with allied nations, while noting Russia’s blocking veto and the need for independent, world-peace efforts. The editor cites Herschell W. Johnson and warns of war if inaction continues.
