The Baptist Convention in San Antonio will host 66 778 area Baptists at First Baptist Church on Tuesday September 9. The event includes a world alliance report and financial planning sessions led by prominent laymen and ministers with an all day rally and an evening mass meeting led by C L Durrett of Little Rock Ark. Homer Rodeheaver will lead song and honor the role of Billy Sunday era evangelism. J Howard Williams will discuss linking Texas Baptist program to global evangelization.
Texas farmers convert surplus potatoes into silage to feed cattle. In Tom Green County Troy Stanf ord fed 72 tons with 20 tons of hay. Kyle dairy by Hill brothers used three carloads in silo with Johnson Grass hay. W H Pratt near Giddings stored 270 tons in a Box Silo. Potatoes absorb moisture, cure well, and cost about one cent per hundred plus freight.
The annual Fredericksburg Luther League Bible Encampment took place August 24 to 27 at the YMCA camp near Hunt. Lectures covered Bible camping with St. Paul and St. James, with afternoons filled by baseball tennis and other games. Attendees numbered 125 to 150 from Llano Mason Cherry Spring Doss Kerrville Albert Harper Fredericksburg Cave Creek and Crabapple.
Messrs. David Proske and Ed die Knippa of Houston and Geo. Knippa of Giddings visited H. Rahe Sunday night.

The Virginia Council of Churches urges action against lynching with education legislation and letters to papers. A memorial bust of General William Booth is presented to the United Nations at Lake Success marking 82 years of the Salvation Army's global work now under 97 national flags with 3,000,000 members.
Local churches including Harper's, Methodist, and Presbyterian announce Sunday services with schedules for Sunday School at 10 a.m., worship at 11 a.m., and evening services. Dozens of visitors are listed, along with charity drives for Europe and notes on parish events and meetings.
Dr. Aaron H. Rapking questions what to expect as moral and religious life in the United States faces growth in secularism and changing education. Meanwhile nine American church leaders travel to Gotemba and Seoul for interdenominational conferences on relief, evangelism, and mission school unification. The delegation includes Thoburn Trumhough, Herrick Young, Tiaha Yost, Alice Billingsley, Ruth Williams, Elmer Friddell, Peter Emmons, F G Brooks, and Henry G Bovenkerk.
