NOTES OF THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS CONTEST AT HIGH SCHOOL
The Sub-District Contest will be held in the High School Auditorium in late March with a program including A Rat Ole Class and The Unknown Soldier. Students from Acky, Hampton, Dike, Eldora, Algott ton and Iowa Falls participate. Fort Dodge hosted the State Sectional Tournament with Fort Dodge winning. The Sophomore class presented Dickens tale scenes. The Smugglerman operetta by eighty pupils was well received. Examinations begin Friday, end third quarter next week, graduation planned for late May. Easter vacation starts March 27. a Faculty party and various health talks by nurse Eunice Jones were noted. A Hubbard Odd Fellows meeting and a note urging readers to update post office addresses appeared.

Mossman Wins Exhibition After Comeback in Horseshoe Match
Patt Mossman and Frank Jackson staged an exhibition at Waterfront Park with Mossman winning four straight games in a four out of seven setup. The pair had toured upstate before returning to St. Petersburg with fans predicting another match. Mossman’s tournament average rose despite the setback, while Jackson improved as well. Also reported is the death of W. S. Johnston of Hardin County, Iowa, a pioneer who spent winters in California and lived much of his life on a Sac County farm before moving to Eldora, with funeral plans set in Berlin.

February Term District Court adjourns after busy session
The February term of district court adjourned after a strenuous session. The last case Red Ball Bus vs McLeod Transfer Co sought 8720 in damages. jury returned for the bus company. Several defendants received fines or sentences for DUI and resisting an officer. Next term set for April 27 with Judge Thompson presiding.
