Marie Matheson 76 Rites Held in Eldora
Marie Matheson aged 76 died Sunday at her Eldora home. Services were held Wednesday at United Church of Christ Congregational Eldora with Rev. Paul E. Lyster officiating. Burial was in Eldora Cemetery. She was born near Hull Iowa in 1854, lived in Eldora 22 years, and worked in Gamble's Store, rural schools, and government civil service. Survivors include siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may go to Eldora Community Hospital Auxiliary.

Scouts held fly-up and bridging ceremonies for Union Girl Scouts Thursday in the South Hardin Recreation Center community building. Brownies moved to junior scouts, with two photo groups showing named girls and 11 gifts bridging from Junior Scouts to Cadettes. The event celebrated the 50th anniversary year with remarks from Lt. Governor Jepsen, the mayor, and Chamber of Commerce president Brown.
