Fish Hatchery Shipment Placed in Lower Lake
A state fisheries truck under Raymond Mulholland delivered a toad of fish from the Lansing hatchery to lower lake. The load included six to twenty inch fish with 60 pounds of black bass and 100 pounds of channel catfish. A consignment of bluegills and bullheads is expected soon.

Evergreen Trees To Be Planted For Eldora Centennial
Progress toward Eldora becoming The Pine City for the 1953 centennial features a plan to plant four evergreen Christmas trees about four to five feet tall in the courthouse square and three smaller trees on each side of Highway 7 near the Training School. The Woman's club funds the trees at about $26, with the city providing labor. resident planting is postponed to fall. a landscape architect will draft an overall yard plan to guide property owners.

Seriously Injured In Two Car Collision Near Iowa Falls
Walter Hoing, 44, living south of Iowa Falls, was seriously injured in a two car crash at an intersection half a mile south of Sunnyside crossing. About 2 20 p m a 1951 Kaiser driven by Clarence Humphreys 49 of Iowa Falls collided with a 1938 Plymouth driven by Clyde Hoing 32 traveling east. Humphreys had a fractured right shoulder and Hoing minor injuries while Walter Hoing was reported to be holding his own at Iowa Falls hospital.

Board Finds Costly Road Work Needed
County Supervisors Bev an Martin Ryken and Hillis Wilson inspected roads and bridges this season. A follow up trip found four or five wooden bridges will be built and about 64 000 yards of gravel required to restore surfacing on county and local roads. Estimated cost to replace gravel is about 75 000 dollars, funded mainly from gasoline tax and data license fees. Availability of funds remains uncertain.
