A local church bulletin enumerates Sunday school and worship times for Chester Friends Church Assembly of God Eldora First Baptist St Paul Lutheran Calvary Baptist First Methodist First Congregational and First United Church, detailing sermons subjects, youth meetings, choir rehearsals, confirmations, and family activities across January dates and weekday gatherings.
Lawn Hill Church led by George Cordes pastor invites all to Sunday school at 10 a.m. and church service at 11 a.m. Everyone Welcome.
Father George announces Sunday Masses at 8:00 and 10:04 with daily Masses at 7:00. Confessions on Saturday 4:00 6:00 and 7:00 9:00. Holy Day vigils 4 1 and 9. First Fridays 4 5 and 7 8. Confessions before Masses on Sundays and Holy Days. Choir practice Thursdays 7 pm. Children divided into three groups meet Saturdays at 2 pm. High schoolers meet Thursday 7:30 pm. Adult instruction open to Catholics and non Catholics by request. Baptisms 2:30 Sundays.

Richardson’s ministry, including Bible school at 10 a.m., morning worship at 11, a youth 6:45 p.m. gathering, and an evening service at 7:30 p.m. A program of scripture memorization will be judged during the evening service, with a brief sermon on the Bible. Marquardt’s church offers Bible study 10-11 a.m., morning worship at 11-12, C B Y groups at 7 p.m., and evening service at 7:45 p.m. There are upcoming events: Sunday school teachers conference January 14, Dercas Society meeting January 16, and midweek prayer and praise January 17.
Ladies Aid met on Friday January 4 at Mrs. Glen Baker s home with nine members present and guests. Mrs Jim Lee elected president Mrs Wilce Ward vice president and Mrs Florence Northrup secretary treasurer. Next meeting January 18 at church parlors with a basket lunch. Needlecraft club meets January 17 at Mrs Fred Ward s home. Numerous local visits and hospital updates follow including Ralph Bright s return from Eldora Memorial Hospital and several community social visits and travels. Earl Jensen remains critically injured after a Dows area accident.
