Commission officials called the season good with many hunters early, but birds were very wild at closing and bag limits were two roosters. E B Speaker notes plenty of roosters for next winter but warns reduced winter cover could threaten populations if severe winter storms occur due to drought and corn borers. Normal winter should not severely affect pheasants.
