Hanover Sons Victorious Homecoming Theme for 1967

Hanover College marks its 1967 Homecoming October 13 and 14 with the theme Hanover Sons Victorious. Under Linda Dills and Fred Wolfred events include an IFC sponsored Chariot Race, pep rally, bonfire, Homecoming Queen announcement on Morgan Field, Soul Inc for the all school dance, registration at J Graham Brown Campus Center, luncheon at 11 30, and a Centre College game. Shirrelles perform in the Popular Artist Series to close. Committee chairpersons include Kathy Klas Gana Taggart Tom McFarland Mary Glenn Rinne Lana Little Bette Garratt Judy Garvey Ann McCracken Melinda Montgomery John Rapley and Hollie Baugh. Campus Center Board assists alums throughout the weekend.

Hanover College Library Reaches Hundred Thousand Books

Walter Morrill, head librarian, announces Hanover College library adds 100000th volume this year. The Horizon Book of the Elizabethan World edits the volume, with Morrill calling it a milestone and predicting 10000 more volumes this year. Earlham holds 128700, ranking second in Indiana.

Printing error delays Triangle last week

Editor laments missed issue due to a failing linotype machine. The old press produced lead spatter and broke repeatedly, halting production for several days before repairs allowed publication to resume.

Faculty Endorses Student Discipline Plan With Three Amendments

The faculty unanimously passed the amended Plan for Student Discipline during Monday’s meeting. A student body election on Oct 18 will decide if the changes take effect on a one year trial basis, with the JRC drafting a governing constitution and reporting continuation at the Oct 1968 faculty meeting.

Senate Rejects Campus Center Board Constitution

Senate defeats the Campus Center Board proposed constitution after two weeks of tabled debate. Tim Costich led a motion to reject, arguing Senate should approve amendments since the Center is funded by Senate and the Board is representative of the college community. Board members Betty Gliessner Larry Hjort Sande Storey and Leslie Allison defended the Board’s control over amendments and faith in elected representatives.

CCB Constitution Returns to Senate for Vote

The Campus Center Board moved to re submit its constitution to Student Senate next week without amendments after Senate rejected it Wednesday night. Debates focused on amendment procedures lack of referendum recall and initiative. Pritchett formed a committee to justify the board position and to present it when the document is removed from the table. A committee was also formed to discuss admission charges for Parker Auditorium. JoAnne Motz announced a coffee house at the Hub Saturday from 8 to 12 with ten student acts. The Hub will close at 6 30 p m for decorations. doughnuts and four kinds of coffee will be served.

Auditions Open for Oratorio Choir This Fall

Director Dr. J. David Wagner invites auditions for the Oratorio Choir through the fall season. Those who have not auditioned for the A Cappella Choir may schedule on Wednesday afternoons October 11 and 18. First practice will be October 19 at 7 p.m. in Classic 102. the group will perform Brahms German Requiem.

Campus Center Constitution Passed by Senate

The proposed Scholarship Foundation constitution was approved with no debate after it was tabled earlier. Senate also announced Chip Hixson’s ad hoc committee appointments including the students bill of rights group chaired by Jim McCall with members Autumn Berger Scott Boggs Penny Pither and Gayle Richards.

Peter Nero to Perform Jazz Classical Mix at Parker Auditorium
