Freshman Excursion Aboard Columbia Charters Night Out

The class of 1913 held a Friday night freshman excursion aboard the Columbia. A cool breeze and bright stars accompanied dancing to Klein's Orchestra as Madison and Hanover residents joined the voyage, with picnics and college songs resounding during the return trip to Hanover.

William Allen Cullop of Vincennes Indiana Dies or Retires

William Allen Cullop of Vincennes Indiana was born March 28 1853 in Knox County. He attended common schools and Hanover College earning a BA in 1878 and AM in 1883. He studied law and began practice in Vincennes in June 1830 and became a prominent Democratic figure elected from the Second District to the Sixty first Congress and nominated for the Sixty second session.

Cement sidewalks under way at Hanover College

The College leads in implementing the town board sidewalk decision. Contractor Stanley of Madison has excavated along College property about thirteen to fourteen hundred feet and begun cement work near the gates. If weather allows, new cement walk may be ready in about two weeks.

Novel Y M C A Meeting Draws Largest Hanover Attendance

The Hanover Y M C A held its Sunday service on Classic Hall porch to the largest turnout in years. Miss Harding led a Public Spiritedness themed gathering with improvised instrument accompaniment as students and townsfolk joined in. If weather allows, next Sunday will see another outdoor meeting on Classic Hall steps. otherwise the usual Y M C A Hall will host.

Intercollegiate Press Association Meets at Lafayette

The Indiana Intercollegiate Press Association held its fourth annual meeting in Lafayette on May 14 with delegates from Indiana University Purdue Wabash Hanover Earlham Butler and Rose Poly. Officers were elected and a Purdue Exponent led banquet talks by President H J Stevens Dean Stan Coulter and editors from member schools. Next year’s gathering is slated for Crawfordsville.

Merry throng returns home after hill trip from Hanover

A cheerful crowd marched up the hills of Hanover toward their homes after a joyful gathering. Chaperons included Mrs Marble, Mrs Espey of Trinidad Colorado, and Prof R Souter. Out of town guests included Miss Libby Clemmons Miss Anna Johnson Miss Friedersdorff of Madison Miss Cobb of Seymour Indiana and Messrs Ross Crozier and Clemmons of Madison.

Sickness Disrupts Professor Boyd Classes and Campus Repairs

Prof. Boyd missed Monday and Tuesday due to illness. Prof. Souter filled in for the Tuesday Pedagogy class while Prof. Young schedules cement walks at two locations near Oldfather and the old Post Office. The Sophomore Botany class repeatedly postpones its Clifty trip because rain keeps coming.
