Victory and Defeat in Doubleheader at French Lick

Normal loses to Hanover in a slugfest while splitting away games Thursday and Friday. Farrell started for Normal, with Friedman and Dawson pitching for Hanover. Key hits by Miller Harrison Nowlin and Jones fuelled Normal scoring. Hanover edges Normal 5 to 3 in the late innings.

Hanover College to send two tennis players to upstate contests

Representing Hanover College at the upcoming upstate matches are R. J. Millar and F. W. Archer. Arrangements are being made for dual meets with several schools, with two likely to proceed, to prep for the intercollegiate contest at DePauw University in Greencastle May 20 26 27 and the I C A L meet at Terre Haute around May 20. The era of tennis at Hanover is strong and both players are skilled and persistent. A celebration followed a baseball victory last Friday night. The vine on the south side of the west wing of Classic Hall was torn from its mounting, spoiling the building’s appearance. Classes were dismissed after the third hour for a funeral. William Nichols visited Madison with his father and returned to Hanover. Seniors’ dignified look deepens as graduation nears.

Soldier of Christ Reverend Oldfather Dies at Smyrna Church

The death of Rev. Jeremiah M. Oldfather D D pastor of Smyrna church ended a 38 year gospel career. Born 1841 in Lewisburg Ohio he served in the 93rd Ohio Infantry. He preached in Persia and led multiple congregations before his death at Smyrna. He leaves a widow four children and several siblings.
