Students Get Gift Of 1985 Impala Super Sport Cars

Fifteen Hannover students will drive 1985 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport cars from Tuesday evening through April 21 with all expenses paid. Cars feature floor console automatic shifter, power features, bucket seats, and rear radio. Names include Shirley Bryant, Vin Couden, Sharon Fitch, Gary Hafner, John Hooker, Frank Martin, Mary Sue McClurkin, Sam Monaghan, JoAnn Moorhead, Jim Nelson, Pat Shook, Jack Stiefel, Dick Strait, Lee Sycle, Susanne Talmage. Participating through General Motors college marketing analysis program, they will dine at Rivertown Inn in Madison and discuss views on automobiles. Tape recordings will aid GM’s future product and marketing plans.

Seniors Plan Graduation for 1965 Commencement Speaker

United States Senator Everett Dirksen will be the 1965 commencement speaker. Vin Couden was chosen class commencement speaker and proposed the Class of 1965 Endowment Fund. Members will contribute 12 dollars yearly for twelve years. only interest will be used yearly.

Harlow Shapley to Speak at Monday Assembly

Dr. Harlow Shapley of Harvard University Astronomy and Observatory, Emeritus, will headline Monday's Assembly. He holds sixteen honorary degrees and is a noted author and editor with works such as A Source Book in Astronomy and A View From a Distant Star. If he arrives, he will lead Sunday Seminar discussion on his book A View From a Distant Star, else Dr Edward Huene man will lead.

Greek Weekend Events Kick Off With Banquet

Greek Week opens next Thursday in Long Gym with a banquet for Greeks. Eugene Hibbs will speak. Fall term scholarship trophies are to be presented and a folk-singing group of Greek reps will perform. A 3:30 p.m. workshop is planned in the Administration Building open to the public.

S.N.E.A. Names Criteria For Professor Of The Year

The Student National Education Association proposes a Professor of the Year award to highlight essential teaching qualities. Ethics Committee members set criteria on subject matter, attitude, curiosity, disagreement tolerance, student relations, personal example, and college improvement. Voting occurs March 25 at 7:00 p.m. in Classic 109. An April announcement will name the winner who receives a gift and a plaque.

President Announces Faculty Appointments for 1965 66

President John E Horner reveals three new faculty hires for the 1965 66 academic year. J Carl Metz joins Political Science with degrees from Allegheny Northwestern and soon Pitt. He has taught at Mercerburg Academy and Pittsburgh University. Paul T Rosewell replaces Dr Robert Dunwell as English studies educator at Nebraska where he will receive EdD this June. He has extensive teaching experience from high schools to university level and contributes to the Ginn Basic Reading Series. Wesley L Franzmeier adds to Speech, with prior teaching at Minnesota and current post at Michigan State University.

Shirley Bryant Wins Indiana Oratorical Contest Title

Shirley Bryant representing Hanover College won first place in the Indiana State Oratorical Contest, Women's Division, held yesterday at Purdue. The victory earns her a chance to represent Indiana in the inter-state contest at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, in May.

Class Officers Nominated In Local Election Slate
