Dirksen To Speak Senator Accepts May Invitation

Nigerian Drama Shows Authentic Village Life

Hanover College Theater presents The Lion and the Jewel by Nigerian playwright Wole Soyinka on March 5 and 6 in Parker Auditorium. The production features Ross Rowland Phyllis Simmons Jim Cunningham and Gay Kolomorgen with Ayodele Ogundipe assisting on costumes dances and chants. Tickets are free for students and available at the Parker Auditorium box office with curtain at 8 15 p m both nights.

SCQA Speakers Debate Vital Addressers at Hanover

Hanover's Committee For Quality Assemblies presented its speaker list to the Chapel Convocation Committee. Members included A Glenn Mower and Dean Haverkamp with student Jim Nelson chairing the student senate as ex officio. The group proposed speakers such as Bayard Hughes Gus Hall John Lewis George Lincoln Rockwell Harry Truman Eisenhower and more. The faculty feared risks to Hanover's image while the students argued for nontraditional voices. The meeting ran 25 minutes short of the allotted time and adjourned with plans to consider the proposals.

Fifteen Hanover Students Stage Little U N Program

Hanover students take part in The Little U N at Indiana University with fifteen players portraying delegates and judges in an International Court. Freshmen and upperclassmen represent Austria Australia Panama Hungary and Guinea under the guidance of Dr. Glenn Mower.

Faculty Versus Senators Annual Charity Basketball Game

The faculty team and Student Senators meet at Lynn Gym on Wednesday March 10 at 8 30 for the annual game to raise funds for a Hanover foreign exchange student tied to Greek Week. Named players include Dr Harold White John Worley Leonard Wilson Coach Wade Roby and others on the faculty side and Steve Olvey's Student Senators with Mark Hershman Dave Meese Bob Paulus Alan Kolb Jim Nelson Tom Roberts Jerry Coffey and Don Cowan on the student squad. Officials are Dean Glen Bonnett and Mr James Copeland with cheer captains Bobbi Finlayson Bev Carpenter and Dave Fairman leading cheers.

Bike Co Heads Elected as Race Co-Chairmen

The Student Senate elected two co chairmen for spring bike race events. Lucy Frick of Monticello, a Human Relations major, represents Young Democrats and Kappa Alpha Theta. Steve Bettcher from Elkhart, also a Human Relations major, serves as Crowe Hall assistant resident and is active in Inter-Fraternity Council and Sigma Chi. Ste is noted as Leadership Workshop chairman.
