Well Known Scientist To Speak Friday

Dr. Ashley Montagu world famed anthropologist and social biologist will speak at Hanover Friday as part of a Indiana college tour. Born in London he became a U.S. citizen in 1940 and earned a Ph.D. from Columbia. He taught at NYU Rutgers and Harvard and contributed to UNESCO race statements plus authored about twenty five textbooks on sociology and anthropology.

Rights sociologist at Hanover urges action for freedom fund

Hanover students and faculty will help fund an Emergency Fund For Freedom next week. Living units appoint representatives to collect and tabulate contributions, with a check to Rev. William Clemenson on Saturday, the eve of Race Relations Sunday, as part of campus civil rights activity.

Poet Wiggam visits Hanover campus events with Frost reading

Poet Wiggam of Indiana University spent Thursday at Hanover attending the HillThoughts Board of Editors luncheon at the River Town Inn and the Senior English Colloquium. He delivered an assembly talk on individuality in a stylized society and read his poems alongside Robert Frost's Fire and Ice. They return to campus for the colloquium then plan the Indiana University Writers Conference in Bloomington this summer.

Horner Named Chief Officer at Presbyterian College Union

Hanover College President John E. Horner was chosen presiding officer of the Presbyterian College Union at its Washington meeting. The group includes leaders from forty five United Presbyterian affiliated colleges. Horner also joined a seven member General Council commission studying undergraduate and theological education. He previously led the Indiana Association of Church-Related Colleges in 1962-63.

Journalism Honorary Chooses 13 Students to pledge

Journalists praised for campus work as Alpha Phi Gamma pledged 13 students last Thursday.
