Byron Haines was elected president of the Student Council to finish the unexpired term of Robert Frederick who graduates this semester. Lynn Layton was chosen vice president to replace Jane Kemp who graduates. Haines leads Phi Delta Theta Gamma Sigma Pi Hanover Choir and Glee Club. Layton belongs to Lambda Chi Alpha. Organizations Pledge $400 To D P Students Will Be Solicited
About $400 has been pledged toward the support of a Displaced Student at a D P Committee meeting. Nine social organizations and the Pan Lingist Club pledged, with Independent Men doubling their quota of $1 per person. The goal is $700, with unpledged students and faculty expected to contribute. A pledge form is printed for others to donate. The committee will select a student once national verification is received.

Donner Cinder Ellas Prepared For Fires
Girls in Donner Hall were briefed in corridor meetings on fire regulations ahead of the dormitory's first fire drills in years. Proctors outlined a three point drill, coat provision, closing doors and windows, and roll call at stair wells. Fire drills may occur at any time.
