The Hanover team defeated Indiana Central University on home floor in a fast pace game. Hanover led from early, with strong floor work and solid shooting by forwards Cully and Johnson. Final score 41 to 14 with Johnson leading Hanover scoring and substitutions noted.
The Glee Club personnel for this year is announced after chapel on Wednesday morning. First base singers are Cox Inman and Ira Allison. Second base singers are Montgomery Flynn and Sav er. First tenor includes Brodhecker Lesche and R Huf ford. Second tenor features Col gate Blackwood Millis and F Hufford. Cox and Flynn return from last year’s ensemble.
Coach Rider orders new track and field gear including hurdles, shots, a javelin, discus, and pole for practice and meets.
The I P A officers for next year are Edward Hill of Earlham as president Harrison Neal of Wabash as vice president and Arthur Hollowell of Earlham as secretary-treasurer. The next meeting will be at Richmond hosted by the Earlham Press Club. Mrs Millis and Mrs Hawk left for Bedford and Seymour to visit a daughter and attend a missionary conference. Dorothy Sipe visits Jeffersonville with Daisy Belle Kehoe. Cast readies for American Citizen acts two and three tonight at the gym. A pep meeting followed chapel led by Ye Leader Losche.
Thinly clad runners took to the course yesterday afternoon as two mile runs begin the season. Butler Falls road is growing popular while Coach spoke on training for the track before a mass meeting of the men after chapel Wednesday morning.
The team traveled to Franklin yesterday and played last night. Tonight they face an independent Martinsville squad with ex-coach Hutch arranging the game for the locals.
Revonah Pictures Center of Madison photographed the four lit societies two younger classes and both the HH and Dramatic Club groups on Wednesday during the fifth hour. Individual portraits were shot at the Phi Game house in the afternoon. Allen Ramsey '14 now teaches at Desplaines Township High School in Cook County. Elmer Cravens '14 succeeds him as principal of Perryville High School Indiana.
The Betas hosted a George Washington dinner with red and white decor. Professor Oldfather chaperoned as students embark on a trip to Louisville for the Sigma Chi banquet in Indianapolis. Charles Alling of Chicago to speak. John Coulter publishes a new plant breeding book. basketball results show Franklin over Earlham 30 to 28.
The Williamson Dunn Chapter of the D A R seeks to buy six to seven acres of hillside land between Crowe Falls and Hanover Cemetery to create a public park. Funds needed are about three hundred dollars with a donated tract adjoining the ravine and falls likely offered. Rustic bridges would be built and the land deeded to the Hanover Presbyterian church trustees for perpetual park use.
Mrs Sutherland hosted a St Valentine dinner for the dormitory girls last Monday evening. The dining room featured red and white decor with heart motifs on tables and invitations. All the girls wore white to match the color scheme as fortunes were told with hearts after dinner.
