I C A L Track and Field Meet Event Order

The annual I C A L meet in May will run by the Western Inter Collegiate rules. Trials include 120 yard hurdles 100 yard dash and 440 yard run. finals include 120 yard hurdles 100 yard dash 220 yard hurdles 220 yard dash and more. The one mile relay does not count for scoring. The tennis singles precede doubles and do not score for the winning team.

Faculty Rulings At Hanover College On Language Requirements

The faculty decided not to enforce the Latin entrance makeup rule for students with High School Modern Language courses. Graduation now requires three years of satisfactory work in any High School Foreign Language plus three years in college. The college will stop offering courses toward higher degrees to focus resources on Liberal Arts.

New Trask Surveyed for Track Construction Plan

In a regular Board of Athletic Managers meeting on Tuesday the track project was discussed. Arrangements were made to start immediately with multiple committees under Coach Rider overseeing. the field was re surveyed Wednesday and the courses laid out as far as possible at this time.

Moores Hill Faces Hanover After Setback in Gym Repairs

Moores Hill and Hanover meet again after Milan High School beat Moores Hill last week. The Moores Hill squad traveled this afternoon with all players fit despite two missed practices due to gym repairs. They aim to overturn a previous loss to the Methodists.

Glee Club Plans Illinois Dates and March River Trip

The Glee Club met Wednesday to review new pieces delayed by publishers. Prof. Alexander praised the music and work and foresees a successful season with one or two Illinois dates and an initial river trip before a longer tour in late March.

Death of Prof. Kritz the West Indiana educator

Henry Kritz 53 died at his Waveland home last Tuesday in his 90th year. He taught ancient languages at Wabash College for 25 years and contributed to leading magazines in the field. A former Hanover Academy instructor, he earned his PhD at Hanover in 1873 and led Waveland Presbyterian Academy, earning the title Waveland's grand old man. He was a lifelong Presbyterian. A telegram conveyed faculty and student sympathy to his family.

Inter Society Contest Set For March 29

The annual inter society contest between the Union and Philal literary societies will be held March 29 at 7 30 either in the college chapel or in the Presbyterian church with the venue undecided.

I. C. A. L. Schedule Sets 1917 Meets at Terre Haute

The 1917 I. C. A. L. meet will be hosted by the Indiana State Normal School and Rose Poly Institute in Terre Haute. In Greencastle 1917 DePauw will hold the meet with the following four years assigned: 1918 Earlham 1919 Franklin 1920 Wabash 1921 Butler. The meet occurs on the fourth Saturday in May each year.

Summer School Opens June 20 With Industrial Education Focus

The summer school will begin June 20 and will offer any curriculum subject if enough students enroll. A special feature is courses in Industrial Education. Scott Sutherland '17 weekend in Indianapolis and C. R. Macdonnell '13 visited. Clyde Broddecker returned from Brownstown. Rose Poly beat Franklin 20 to 14 at Terre Haute last week.

Alumnus in Prominence in Transcontinental Telephone Festivities

Telephonic celebrations mark AT&T milestone as Bell chats with Watson in San Francisco and officials from New York Boston and Washington exchange greetings. The event highlights a 4750 mile direct line linking ocean to ocean with dignitaries and executives in attendance. A. N. Bethel presided and Union Noble Bethel spoke on career guidance.
