E H Kemper McComb head of English at Manual Training High School Indianapolis elected president of the National Council of Teachers of English in Chicago. He is the first high school teacher to hold the post, succeeding Franklin T Baxter of Columbia University. The council includes college and secondary school English teachers nationwide. Fraternity runs the California football team training table. one fraternity chosen each season.

Mission study class formed at Oldfather's program
A Mission Student class under Professor Oldfather will start with the first meeting Monday evening. The text The New Era in Africa by Eddy will be used. Press Club Tryouts Open for Triangle Journalists
Try-outs for Press Club membership begin with the next Triangle issue with assignments given to interested college journalists. First Track Practice Begins For Candidates
Coach Rider called for track candidates and then spoke on key track work. He grouped entrants into short middle and long distance runners. Short cross country runs start next week and continue about two weeks before distances begin. Milers and half milers may keep cross country practice longer.
