Triangle Announces Best Dressed Co-ed Contest on Campus

Hanover students may nominate for the Best Dressed Girl contest sponsor ed by the Triangle to enter Glamour Magazine nine annual Best Dressed Competition. Entries due Monday noon at the library front desk. Semi finalists will be chosen from campus winners and the Top Ten photographed for Glamour next spring.

Orchestra Entertains All Ages In Louisville

The Louisville Symphony Orchestra under Robert Whitney conducts the fourth Community Artist Series concert at Parker Auditorium next Wednesday at 8 15 p m. Dr Maxwell Poland lauds the ensemble as among the country’s finest small orchestras and notes its long history here since Hanover. An afternoon school concert mirrors yearly outreach, and Whitney’s Making Music series has won a large child audience. The orchestra will dine with faculty and Greek houses between numbers, and since 1948 Whitney has commissioned new works for world premieres at every regular subscription concert. The Hanover Music Library holds over six recordings of the ensemble’s contemporary works.

Catholic Reform topic at Saint Meinrad seminar

The article notes Saint Meinrad hosts a talk on The Reform of Catholic Worship by Reverend Mr. Kavanah. Africa Debate Upholds Traditional Society Over Modernity

In a campus assembly last Monday the affirmative team led by Ted Hill and Ted Lester beat the negative team Catherine Westfall and Henry Hamman by 74 points on the resolution that Africa should maintain a traditional society rather than embrace modernity. The debate featured a two-ballot system with shifts in opinion and concluded with 208 points for the affirmative and 134 for the negative.

Plans Complete For II Opera

Professor Schroe der will lead two pre opera talks on Boris Godunov on February 11 at 4 00 and 7 00 pm at the Hopkins home on Hanover campus. The brief sessions prepare attendees with historical and musical background. An opera bus will depart February 12 at 5 30 pm from Donner Hall quad lane, campus return at 5 45 pm, with Hanover coeds urged to arrange cultural late dates with the Assistant Dean of Women.

Slides Picture Work Abroad Theme for Campus Seminar

Miss Lois Waser of the Women s Physical Education Department will present slides from Denmark at the Campus Fellowship Seminar in Long Gym at 6 15. The slides depict a one month work camp near Copenhagen sponsored by the World Council of Churches during last summer.

A six member Hanover student committee has launched a drive to improve Monday assembly programs focusing on stimulating content rather than increasing numbers. They met with Assembly Committee head Dr A Glen Mower to discuss aims and potential issues.

Bridge Tournament Draws Crowds. Top Teams Named

Ross Rowland and Tom Smith led the East-West division, with Bill Snyder and Tom Spencer second. In North-South, top duo were the winners, while Mrs Mabel Brandon and Mrs Helen Wade placed second. Thirty teams entered the event sponsored by the Student Senate. trophies awarded to all winners. Dave Meese said the turnout pleased the committee and anticipation for next year is high.
