The Y W C A outlines an April 24 program titled Do I Discourage the Others led by Opal Sherman. Lectures by Dr W A Millis are set for May 1 8 15 and 22 with a May 29 program Gaining by Giving led by Jane Rogers. The Bird Club reports its second hike with Prof Souter noting the birds variety has doubled in the past week.

Philalathean Wins Inter Society Literary Contest
The Philalathean Society won the annual Inter-society contest at the Presbyterian Church, taking two firsts in oratory and debate and one in declamation. S. E. Paulus of Union defeated C. W. Orner in declamation, while B. F. Miller beat Geo. E. Amick in oration. I. S. Allison and W. Gibbs led the debate on military training in public schools. Alma Macdonnell and Sadie Gilchrist entertained, with L. Rider A. H. Woodworth and H. C. Montgomery as delivery judges.
