Regulation makes eye exam prescription mandatory in Manitoba

Hamiota installs traffic controls after accidents
Mayor Don Mennie announced September 8 that Hamiota will curb accidents with new devices. The council asked RCMP for remedies and installed No U Turn signs at Fourth Street Maple and Oak intersections. Solid center lines were painted on Maple Avenue and Third and Fourth Streets.

The Kenton family marked Stan Goulds 80th birthday with a weekend in Winnipeg from August 20 to 25. Highlights included Rainbow Stage showing Sound of Music, a Deer Lodge United Church service, social visiting, lawn croquet, and a barbecued dinner at Dr. F T Goulds home. Doreen joined from Regina with the family complete except Dr Lisa Gould who is interning in London Ontario. The celebration also included Mrs Ivy Heapy, Donna’s mother.

MINIOTA The Parkissimo Oddfellows Lodge No 76 Miniota held its first fall meeting on Tuesday September 2 at Arrow River Hall with 9 members and 2 visitors. Grand Master Arthur Knight of Winnipeg and Past Grand Master Howard Kneeshaw of Carberry attended along with other Grand Lodge officers. The meeting featured the presentation of a 45 year veterans jewel to Bro. David Russell of Miniota, the senior member of Parkissimo Lodge.
