Hamiota Health Centre Auxiliary Meets Reports Busy Quarter
The Hamiota District Health Centre auxiliary resumed monthly meetings on September 26 with 11 districts represented. President Pauline Campbell opened with a poem from the Friendship Book and minutes were approved. The treasurer reported minor expenses and a loan repayment bringing the checking balance to 2326.97 dollars. A supply report noted potential next month purchases after water damage to dishes. Ten student volunteers were named and their name tags ordered. Heather Sheane summarized hospital liaison data including admissions 227 newborns 9, occupancy 80.67 percent, ambulance trips 28, and homecare visits 732 to 202 clients. Donations totaled 18,818.88 with 11,181.70 from Friends of Deryck. Purchases included oxygen concentrators, a freezer, lawn mower, TV and VCR, defibrillator, central air, a Ford van with lift, portable phone, and clinic renovations. Dr. Craig Fedorowich began dentistry in June and regional hiring prospects were noted. The regional rep reported difficulty finding a successor as term ends.
