About 150 people attended Seminar 88 at the Agricultural Centre in Brandon to learn research methods and sources for tracing family histories. Keynote speakers Ron Bremer and Dr Bruce Elliott discussed global records and Irish sources, with workshops led by Penny Ham and Ruth Breckman. The group invites interested readers to contact the Manitoba Genealogical Society Southwest Branch and join monthly meetings.

Legion Auxiliary Meeting in Hamiota Details October 1988

The Legion Auxiliary to Branch 174 in Hamiota met October 25 with 29 members. President Maxine Cumming chaired as Mabel Wyphorn rejoined the community. Minutes, correspondence, and financial reports were read. donations were given to the Arthritis Society the Ability Fund and the Hamiota Donor's Choice. Plans included bingo socials remembrances and a Christmas party with a cake raffle.
