Library Craft Sale Shines in Hamiota

The Annual Library Craft Sale drew a good crowd on Saturday November 5th in Hamiota. Prizes included a food hamper won by Kathleen Musgrove a plant from McConnell's Greenhouse donated by Cory Anderson a sweater from Nora Kirk awarded to Geneva Thompson and a cake door prize donated by Audrey Kirk won by Eleanor Campbell. Next year's sale is set for October 21 1989.

Switzer Attends North Central 4-H Leaders Forum in Fargo

Shirley Switzer of Newdale joins 325 4-H volunteers and staff from 12 Midwest states and Manitoba at the 13th North Central Regional 4-H Leaders Forum in Fargo North Dakota. Keynotes by Ann Kaiser and Dr Chuck Lofy cover family experiences and managing change with youth development and leadership training sessions.

Christmas Cheer Board Seeks Hampers For Hamiota Families

The Christmas Cheer Board invites families in Hamiota to request a Christmas food hamper or for others to nominate someone in need. Frances Wilson and Airdrie Knight handle inquiries. Past hampers were funded by the Hamiota and Oakner U.C.W. groups. donations from organizations or individuals are welcome.

Betty May Lawn and William Arnold Murray celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at the Community Centre on October 29. A Come and Go Tea preceded an Old Time Dance with 292 guests. The couple wed October 30, 1948 at Isabella United Church.
