40th Anniversary Celebration for Allan and Maxine Cumming
A social evening on October 22 1988 at Hamiota Community Centre marked the 40th wedding anniversary of Allan Cumming and Maxine Lorimer. The couple wed October 20 1948 at Kenton United Church and were joined by family and about 200 guests including friends from Calgary Airdrie Fairlight Portage Winnipeg and Brandon. Music by Omer Hansen of Virden accompanied the event as attendees admired the bride in her gown.

In a letter from Donald H. Landers of Canada Post a commitment to correct Circular Route Testing Program problems in rural Manitoba was made. He said service would be equal to or better than at the test start by October 24 with more contractors and manpower.
