Agriculture Canada licenses two new crop varieties this spring
Agriculture Canada released two new varieties this year: R-500 high erucic acid rapeseed and Dufferin rust resistant flax. R-500, developed at the Saskatoon research station, offers high oil content for industrial uses but is disease prone and suited to southern areas. Dufferin, from Morden, aims to replace Redwood 65 with better rust resistance and slightly higher oil content, distributed through Regina station seed sections.
