Council Discuss Ice Streets and Dogs HAMIOTA

Council notes April receipts of 7018.91 and unlicensed dogs in the village. It approved multiple building permits, considered a new calculator, a chain saw for the Fire Department, and costs for excavating in front of the Post Office. Officials set licensing deadlines and warned legal actions if violated.

Village of Hamiota approves artificial ice agreement

A May 20 1975 special council meeting in Hamiota approved entering into a three to two thirds partnership with the Rural Municipality of Hamiota to construct artificial ice at the skating rink with the village paying one third of the cost.

Tea and Bazaar A Success at Cardale

The Rolling Dale Workshop Tea and Bazaar in Cardale raised over 1300 from ticket sales, tables, baking, needlework and ceramics. Raffle winners were Ed Giesbrecht, Rivers, G. Vickery, Hamiota and Ann Forrest, Kenton. Deputy Grand Master Roy Espey of Manitoba Orange Lodge presented funds. Donations came from Rivers Women's Institute and Oakner Church Women. Over 1200 plants were ordered from the greenhouse with more still available.

The CHUMAH Ladies Club met on May 14 with 16 members present. Pearl Kidd led, aided by Mildred Hazlewood Violet Nicholls and Kathleen Thornton. Officers reported. donation to Rolling Dale Workshop discussed. $15 approved to support Cairn Site mowing initiative. plant exchange given as program. meeting closed with lunch.

Local Bowling Club elects officers at May meeting

The Bowing Club annual meeting in the Community Room on May 12 drew 30 members. Officers elected include President Mrs Roy Kerr Vice Mr Bert Knight and Treasurer Mrs J J Ward. Fees set at $2 50 for play as rinks and schedules are arranged.
