Third Biological Site Established for Leafy Spurge Control
The Blanshard Hamiota Miniota Woodworth Weed District with the Manitoba Department of Agriculture opens a third site for biological control of leafy spurge by European insects. After two years some action is seen at earlier sites. more transplanting to other areas may occur in two to three years. Sid Lewis, Weed Supervisor, along with councillors and Weed Board members, collaborates to manage both accessible and non accessible infestations.

Chumah District News Highlights Summer Events
The third annual Chumah wiener roast gathered 24 people at Harry and Marlene Andrews with visitors from Estevan Brandon and Minnedosa. Adults, children enjoyed roasting wieners and marshmallows and a soccer game with no score reported.

Inductees to be honored at Manitoba Agricultural Hall ceremony
On Thursday August 2 1990 at 2 00 p m in the Winkler Bible Institute Auditorium the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame Inc invites friends and relatives to a dedication ceremony. A A Kroeker and Theodosy Wacina will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Lloyd Hatch Tully McKenzie and Harvey Tolton to be inducted onto the Roll of Honor. The program includes welcome greetings entertainment a guest speaker the dedication ceremony and refreshments.
