Swimmer’s itch advisory issued for Manitoba lakes
Health officials warn Manitoba swimmers about swimmer’s itch a skin allergy caused by a water borne parasite from waterfowl and snails. Rashes and hives appear itchy but non dangerous with symptoms lasting four to five days up to two weeks. Brisk towel drying after swimming and anti itch meds help. Avoid swimming in affected lakes as warnings will be posted.

Harding Dedication Marks Historic Church Site at Greenwood Cemetery
Under bright skies on June 24, about 50 people gathered at Greenwood Cemetery to dedicate a new headstone marking the original Brad wardine Methodist Church and manse built by 1893. Harding Centennal Group president Richard Howey welcomed attendees, and Mrs Maisie Blackwell unveiled the marker before Pastor Steve Wilson dedicated the plaque.
