Bowden Hosts Craigie Clan Reunion in Alberta
Descendants of R W Craigie gathered July 12 13 in Bowden Alberta to mark the 100th anniversary of his birth born Montrose Scotland and emigrated to Canada in 1910. About 70 signed the register and enjoyed a bonfire, fiddling, a pancake breakfast and family visits with many staying in touch as pen pals.

25th Reunion Held by Oak River Scout District
The Cubs Scouts Ventures and Beavers of the Oak River district held their 25th reunion on July 6. 91 registered for the afternoon, with Ed Wadham chairing the opening of Breaking the Flag and greetings from the district. Guest speaker Jack McPhaden of Winnipeg lauded the program’s impact, and a church service followed by a pot luck supper and displays of photos books crafts and uniforms.

Manitoba generation in June 1980 totaled 1156.4 million kWh, 97.0 percent from water power, down from 1536.3 million kWh in June 1979. Imports reached 46.8 million kWh while 72.9 percent of generation served local consumption and exports totaled 361.8 million kWh to Ontario Saskatchewan and the United States.
