Manitoba Extends Farm Loans Program to 1988
Manitoba extends its loan guarantee program to December 1 1988 after providing about 100 million in guarantees to over 1000 farmers since 1983. Agriculture Minister Bill Uruski cites high input costs low prices and high interest as reasons while noting eligibility includes operating credit under 125 000 Canadian citizens or landed immigrants in Manitoba with at least 20 percent equity.

Drop-in Centre Update: Winter Games crokinole postponed
January notes show a small turnout for crokinole and bridge with eight players at the January 22 session. Miniota 4 H Club enjoyed a Christmas sledding outing and a weiner roast at Pat Lelands. Jody Leland and Ginger Reid delivered speeches on Camp Wan nakumbae and the 4 H Junior Conference. Public Speaking set for March 21 at 7 30 in Hamiota. demonstrations April 6 at 7 30 possibly Crandall. Bonspiel January 28 and achievement date April 16. Next meeting February 16.

Minnedosa to Host Manitoba Special Olympics Winter Games
The town of Minnedosa will host the 1st Manitoba Special Olympics Provincial Winter Games February 12 to 15, 1987. About 200 athletes from across Manitoba will compete in speedskating snowshoeing and Nordic and Alpine skiing with the Kinsmen Club as official sponsor and Dr Robin Carter as Games Chairperson. Opening ceremonies are February 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Minnedosa Arena, with events on February 13 and 14.
