Paul Hann is scheduled for two concerts at Hamiota Collegiate on Friday February 6. The afternoon show begins at 1 00 p m and ends earlier than the 7 00 p m evening performance. Tickets can be obtained from Denny Decker at the Midwest Recreation District Office.

Women of Distinction Awards seeks Brandon nominations

Disaster Exercise Planned at Hamiota Centre

The Hamiota District Health Centre will host a simulated disaster on February 11 1987 before noon under Manitoba Emergency Health Services and Manitoba Health Services Commission. Staff will treat casualty victims in a life like emergency scene with involvement from ambulance service fire department RCMP and provincial emergency health services.

Farm statistics to be discussed at Brandon University seminar

Brandon Manitoba has lost 11 percent of its farms in ten years and the farm population has declined 22 percent. By 1986 average farm size rose to 656 acres with a $305000 capital investment. Janey Honey and Glen Flaten will introduce the session outlining current farm conditions and a 1976 1981 1986 comparative picture.

Hamiota considers forming a Lioness Club

An informational meeting in the Hamiota Community Room discussed forming a Hamiota and Area Lioness Club. Attendees from Hamiota Oak River and Kenton heard Linda Koshowski of Wheat City Lioness Club speak on benefits and planning. A follow up meeting is set for February 9 1987 at 7 30 p m with contact details provided.
