Hamiota Lions Club 30th Anniversary Celebration
The Hamiota Lions Club, formed January 24 1957, marks 30 years of service with Nellie Woods as president and Morris Deveson as secretary treasurer. Only two charter members remain active Neb Curll and Art Oakden. A birthday party is planned January 31 with past members invited. Highlights include the V tek Reading Machine viewing and honoring Don Mennie as the first District Governor.

Happy Gang Meeting at Harrison House Lounge
The Happy Gang met in the Lounge of Harrison House on Wednesday evening January 21 with 26 in attendance. President Olive Waddell opened, read a poem, and minutes and treasurer’s report were given. After a social hour with six court whist tables, prizes went to Lily Harry, Mary Coutts, Clarence Lamb, and Hilda St. John. A lunch followed. next gathering set for February 4.

The Wrightsons and family receive gifts from local organizations and businesses in welcome of the newborn.
