Hamiota hosts ninth annual minor hockey tournament weekend
Minor Hockey Week in Canada January 17 to 24 set the stage for the 9th annual Hamiota Hockey tournament held January 9 to 11. Eight, ten, twelve, and fourteen year old teams from Kenton, Strathclair, Miniota, Hamiota Decker, Brandon, Virden, Neepawa, Shoal Lake, Minnedosa, and Oak River competed for multiple trophies.

Beaf Club Meet at Kenton January Session
The 4 H Beef and Swine Club met at Ivan Butler's home for their January gathering. Bonspiels and a Kenton Centennial fun and games discussion dominated the agenda. Members thanked supporters of the Christmas cake raffle and adjourned for a lunch by Mrs. Butler. The February 5 meeting will be at Lorne Gompf's home at 7 30 p.m.
