Birdtail River School Board Meets at Crandall in Feb 1975

The Birdtail River School Division No. 38 held a board meeting at Crandall on Thursday February 20 1975 at 8 00 p m. Trustees present included Butcher Waddell Huberdeau Tolton Lewycky Armitage Shier Rapley Choptuik Kreager and Falloon. Correspondence covered audited Strathclair addition finances changes in bank rate and liability insurance. Facility use approvals included Bishop Sewing Level 6 multi purpose room St Lazare meetings Feb 23 and Mar 31 1975 with Grace Rebekah Lodge No 35 gym and kitchen in Hta.

Mixed Playdowns Produce Winners in Hamiota and Newdale

Five Hamilton curling rinks competed in Seagrams Mixed Playdowns with a double knockout format. Robertson’s rink won the A side and Strachan’s the B side. district play at Hamiota February 1–2 saw Robertson, and Strachan also winning at Newdale. Dave Gill and Gerry McKay won A and B sides respectively, with Riv ers district play February 8–9 culminating in Gill defeating Strachan to reach the Provincial Play at Winnipeg February 20–22.
