Beef Club Meeting Held
The 5th meeting of the 4H Beef Club was held February 11 at the elevator with 7 members present. Susan Wright chaired the meeting and discussed plans for a 4H curling event at Kenton, ticket sales, and possible tour locations. Members reviewed the 4H book and answered questions. Jack Boyd demonstrated lamp wiring and tools an electrician uses.

Duke Foursome Captures Aggregate at Open Bonspiel
Hamiota Manitoba The local Men's Curling Club wrapped up its 80th Annual Open Bonspiel after six days of play. Grand Aggregate went to Bob Duke of Virden with his rink Bob Freese Don Andrews and Glen Campbell posting an 11 and 1 mark. Four rinks earned prizes while sixteen more filled the twenty four winners. Nine local club rinks claimed prizes.

Emersons Celebrate 60 Years in Brandon Family Tea
Mr. and Mrs. Emerson of Hillcrest Place Brandon marked their 60th wedding anniversary with a Come and Go tea for family and friends. They were married February 24 1915 at the Hamiota United Manse after long farming years in Hamiota district before moving to Brandon in 1973. They have five children, eighteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Congratulatory telegrams came from the Queen and government officials.
