Powell Equipment of Manitoba supplies all new heavy equipment for the Limestone Generating Station on the Nelson River. The initial order includes 12 off highway trucks five track type tractors four wheel loaders two motor graders and two hydraulic excavators. Powell worked to win the contract against Bechtel Kumagai and other bidders and began delivery in September with a final excavator due in late November. The firm reopened its Thompson branch and set up a Limestone site parts depot to support northern Manitoba projects. Powell has over 70 years of experience in North American heavy equipment supply.
