Easier remittance dates set for Education levies
Education Minister Len Derkach announced an amendment to remittance rules for education taxes collected by municipalities. The change, after extensive consultations, aligns remittance with collection to reduce municipal borrowing and speed funds to education authorities. Effective July 1, taxes due will be remitted by the end of the following month. late collections will remiit by month end. December dues go to January 31.
