Newdale 4-H duo win provincial senior demonstrations
Cathy Jo Lawrence and Michelle McKay of Newdale 4-H Club won the Provincial 4-H Senior Demonstrations with Pack Right Travel Light. The win came at the 75th Manitoba 4-H Anniversary event in Portage la Prairie, after regional and district successes. They entertained about 180 guests at the banquet and later at Island Park, riding on a parade float with other winners.

Community Notes From Hamiota District Health Centre
Well wishes for Stewart Rid dell and Harold Brown as patients at Hamiota District Health Centre. New residents Mr and Mrs Hugh Nesbitt and three children arrive from Scotland to farm Tom Sedgwick’s property. Tom and Eleanor welcomed as Hamiota village dwellers. Georgina and Wilf Brown relocate to town where Wilf works at the Health Centre and Senior Citizens complex. Mrs Ella Anderson holidays with Les Defoort Corrin Deb Defoort in Killarney and with Mabel Wright at Shoal Lake. Jim and Barbara Anderson enjoy a camping trip to Drumheller Alberta and other parts of the province. Barbara’s parents Keith and Barbara Beard visit from Winnipeg to “hold the fort” while the Andersons are away. The Andersons spent the last two weeks of July at Salt Lake for swimming lessons.
