Leonard Nesbitt and John Coxworth couples earned second and third. Senior Citizens garden slot saw 11 entries with Bert Lawrence first, Molly Allan second, and Grace Fortune third. No entries in Rural Home Grounds or Junior gardens this year.

Hamiota Fair raises 2500 for new rink fundraising
The Hamiota Agricultural Fair concludes with 2500 raised for the Hamiota and District Sports Complex. Gifts include an Appolossa Filly donated by Arnold and Norah Gray, a Cash Draw with 200 100 50 prizes, and proceeds from the wind fall draw.

Musgrove Family Reunion Held at Burlington Beach Cabin
A Musgrove family reunion was held July 23 and 24 at Harold and Florence Strachan's Burling ton Beach cabin. Activities included baseball swimming water skiing and games with 51 attendees. Meals featured Jamieson's Catering Saturday supper pancakes sausages bacon maple syrup by the Mast family and a barbecue Sunday. Attendees listed include Kathlene Musgrove Hamiota and many relatives from Ontario Manitoba Calgary and Australia. Special thanks given to hosts for arranging accommodations.

Birthday Weekend Celebrated for Joan Shaw in Hamiota
Friends and relatives gathered in Hamiota July 23 and 24 to celebrate Joan Shaw's 80th birthday. About 200 attended a tea in Chumah Hall, then a smorgasbord for 65 relatives. John Shaw MC'd and shared memories while Sharon Shaw decorated. A photo album and birthday cake by Sylvia Vincent were on display. Sunday brunch at Ted and Carol Little's followed by a B B Q at Larry and Sylvia Shaw's. Monday lunch at Pat and Grace McTavish before travel home. Rain was welcome and helped make a happy weekend.
