Pater Sounds Warning On Socialism And Constitutional Change

Catholic Knights of Ohio from Hamilton and nearby counties gathered for the south anniversary of the St Aloysius branch in Delhi Sayler Park. The program featured Father Mayerhofer and Hon Joseph Pater addressing concerns about constitutional amendments set for September 8, including risks to judges and the initiative recall process. Religious exercises drew large attendance as candidates prepared for the commencement set for Tuesday. A reception followed the program.

Ruthven held on bond after arrest over railroad stock scheme

A. L. Ruthven, once with an office on the Frechtling block, was jailed in Hamilton County after failing to post 2500 bond. Indicted for using U S mails to defraud in a Ruthven Railway Signal stock scheme, he faced a Wednesday hearing before United States Commissioner Adler. Ruthven, detained at the Hamilton County jail, secured a 2000 bond later from Edith Bolsinger.

Judge's Stand Planned at Fair Ground Track Fight

At a fair board meeting Jacob Brau was contracted to build a permanent judge's stand opposite the grandstand. The stand will cost 300 and construction begins this week with the grand stand. A canopy over the temporary grand stand may be added. The yearly entilogue printing was awarded.

Decrease in Horses Shown by Assessors Returns

In Butler County automobiles rise in popularity this year while horses decline. Assessors counted 11,054 horses valued at 1,063,630, versus 13,87 horses valued at 1,002,138 last year, a net shortage of 333 horses. Horse counts and values listed by ward and township, with totals shown as 11,387 horses valued at 1,002,188.
